MARY Stevens Hospice bosses have celebrated the launch of their 20th charity shop.

A new boutique outlet, to help pull in extra pounds for the Oldswinford based charity, was officially launched in Worcester Road on Friday October 2.

Simon Henwood, the hospice's managing director for trading, said the new shop was the culmination of many months of negotiation, planning and hard work and he added: "It marks a new chapter in the trading company's history - as whilst it may not be a large shop it is the first by request charity retail outlet to open in this prestigious location."

He thanked all those who helped to get the project off the ground and added: "I am sure it will be welcomed by the local people who already do so much to support the work of our hospice which for almost 25 years has tirelessly served, free of charge, the needs of our community.”
