A KINGSWINFORD building society is getting set to close its current branch and move less than 150 yards down the road.

The village’s Dudley Building Society branch is moving out of its High Street premises and into a larger unit within the Townsend Place Precinct, based on the corner of Market Street and Summer Hill.

Plans are now well underway for the relocation which the firm hopes will take place in the spring, with Leigh White, marketing and communications manager, assuring customers that the old branch will not close before the new one is open.

He said: “As it is a relocation and not a brand new branch, we can assure customers there will be no break in services between the old branch closing and the new one opening.”

A range of products, writing services, financial advice and independent mortgage advice will be available at the relocated office.

Helen Biggs, Kingswinford branch supervisor, said: “We are thrilled to announce this exciting move to a much more spacious branch that will be much more suitable for our customers’ needs.

“We are completely dedicated to our branch presence in the local area and we understand that many customers still prefer the convenience of having a local branch and the personal service that comes with it."

Current customers of the Kingswinford branch will be contacted in advance of the move to make sure they are fully aware of the change.
