THE newly-crowned ‘Best Comedian in the Midlands’ is bringing her crowd-surfing whirlwind comedy to Stourbridge.

Clad in leopardskin, Stockport housewife and mother-of-five Barbara Nice will headline Fitz of Laughter Comedy Club on Friday, May 6.

Comedy character Barbara – the creation of Phoenix Nights star Janice Connolly – will perform in the marquee at Katie Fitzgerald’s.

She will be supported on the night by fellow pro comedians Ben Briggs, a finalist in the English Comedian of the Year competition in 2015, Hayley Ellis and resident club compere Wayne Beese.

Wayne, 35, of Dudley, said: “We are really looking forward to playing host to Barbara.

“She is excellent at creating a real feel-good atmosphere – she sings, dances, chats and has even been known to crowd surf!

“No-one ever quite knows what is going to happen when Barbara rocks into town – but whatever happens, it promises to be an unforgettable night with two excellent support acts on the bill as well.”

The comedy club runs at the Enville Street venue on the first Friday of every month, and has already packed out this year to top TV names including Gary Delaney, Zoe Lyons and Nathan Caton.

Tickets for the evening, which sees doors opening at 8pm, cost £10 and are available with no booking fee from www.skiddle.com/e/12556752
