PUPILS in Dudley and Kingswinford are celebrating after taking the top prize at a Dudley schools maths competition.
Youngsters from 22 borough schools took part in the Primary Dudley Inter School Mathematics Championship final on Wednesday.
There were two age categories - seven to nine and nine to 11 – and teams of six battled their way through a range of maths challenges to see who would be victorious,
Roberts Primary School in Dudley won the younger category and Blanford Mere Primary School in Kingswinford took the older category.
In addition to a trophy, the winners each received a £10 intu Merry Hill voucher, family match day tickets to Stourbridge Football Club, a goody bag from Tesco in Dudley and a maths book from Collins Education.
Helen Owens, a primary school improvement consultant who helped organise the event, said: "The children were a real credit to their school and we are very proud as we have some very able young mathematicians in Dudley."
