STOURBRIDGE Rock Choir hit the right note when they helped Lye's Kids Orchard Centre raise over £1,000 at their summer fair.

The Rock Choir gave two uplifting performances at the centre which provides support to disabled children, young people and their families across Dudley borough.

Kids Orchard Centre has extremely close links with the Rock Choir as its service manager Lin Corbett is a committed member and said: "The Rock Choir brought something very special to the event. Apart from their performances, many of the members also helped with donations of prizes and gave up their time to set up and help run stalls.

"The money raised from the fair will enable us to extend our playscheme to families until the end of the year - which is fantastic news."

Stourbridge Rock Choir has been running since September 2012 and during that time has helped raise money for many charities.

They've also performed at Stourbridge Carnival and at the town's Christmas lights switch-on.

They will be performing their summer show entitled 'The Choir That Rocks Live' at the Glasshouse Arts Centre in Stourbridge on Friday July 22.
