DUDLEY mums and daughters are being urged to unite and join the fight against cancer this Mother’s Day by entering Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.

Women of all ages, shapes and sizes are being invited pull on their trainers, limber up and sign up to the annual 5km event which is set to take place on Sunday July 9 at Himley Hall.

All of the money raised at the race will help Cancer Research UK’s scientists find new ways to treat cancer and save more lives.

Katie Martin, Cancer Research UK’s Dudley event manager, said: “We’re calling on daughters in Dudley to give an extra special gift this Mother’s Day and pledge to take part in Race for Life with their mum.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to spend quality time together, create precious memories and join like-minded women determined to beat cancer sooner.

“Race for Life events are non-competitive and participants can choose to walk, jog or run around the course.

“Whether they’re planning a 5km amble with friends or a sprint, every step participants take together will help to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”

Katie added: “By coming together, they can be part of a formidable force of women who are all united in their determination to beat cancer. Ladies of Dudley, we’ve no doubt that you’re up to the challenge.”
