THE new Dudley Time Trail will give people the chance to find out more about the town’s rich history and famous figures.
People can pick up a free leaflet that will guide them around the trail, which takes around an hour-and-a-half to complete.
The sheet also features 30 questions, which visitors can find the answers to by working their way around the town centre in search of bronze plaques, which are located outside shops and on landmarks such as churches and statues.
The trail starts at the bottom end of Dudley town centre at the Earl of Dudley statue.
It moves up past Bottom Church and the Dudley Council Plus offices, past Teddy Grays sweet shop, into the Churchill Precinct, Dudley Marketplace and Top Church.
From there, people will need to take a short walk to Dudley Council House, visiting Coronation Gardens, the Dorothy Round statue in Priory Park and back up again to finish at the original starting point.
Alan Lunt, Dudley Council's strategic director for place, said: “Dudley is a market town with a very rich history.
“This new Time Trail will give both those who live in the borough, as well as those visiting us from outside, the chance to learn more about Dudley’s famous figures, happenings and places from the past.”
Time Trail leaflets can be downloaded from www.discoverdudley.org.uk or collected from all borough libraries, archives and visitor attractions including Dudley Council Plus.
