BMW and Audis have been stolen during a spate of burglaries across the borough.

In recent weeks, a number of the high value cars have been taken from homes in Milking Bank and Halesowen between 11pm and 6am.

Police say the offenders stole the keys to the vehicles after gaining access from the back of the properties.

In some cases, the barrels on UPVC patio doors had been snapped, allowing access to the property without a key.

The cars were then driven away in the middle of the night.

In light of the incidents, Dudley Police has urged people to ensure they keep their home secure and their property safe.

Top tips include:

  • If you have an alarm, set it before going to bed.
  • Getting a security light fitted to the front and rear of your house.
  • If you have CCTV, make sure it is always recording.
  • Shut all downstairs windows at night and lock any doors.
  • Try and make the side of your house secure - if you can easily get in through an open side gate or insecure fence, so can an intruder.

Detective Sergeant Leighton Shingles is keen to hear from anyone with any information on the vehicle theft.

He can be reached by calling 101, using extension number 815 6091.
