THE Beacon Bus is rolling into Dudley to help people find out more about sight loss.

It will be parked in the car park at Queen’s Cross Network in Wellington Road, tomorrow morning (Thursday, September 21).

The bus, which belongs to sight loss charity The Beacon Centre, is currently touring the Black Country and Staffordshire to spread the word about eye health.

People who hop on board will be able to find out more about the work of the centre, which is based in Sedgley, as well as how sight loss could affect them.

It is coming to Dudley as part of National Eye Health Week, which started on Monday and runs until Sunday.

It seeks to promote the importance of eye health and the need for regular sight tests for all.

Councillor Nicolas Barlow, Dudley's cabinet member for adult social care, said: “The Beacon bus is a completely free service.

“We are very grateful it is being provided by The Beacon Centre, who do such fantastic work, and we would urge people concerned about sight loss to come along.”

Beacon Centre information officer, Pete Moodie, added: “Our friendly staff will be offering sight loss advice, as well as guidance or demonstrations of assistive living aids and equipment.”
