A PENSIONER was stabbed during a seemingly random attack in Dudley town centre.

The 75-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder on King Street, near the junction with Union Street, at around 10.45am on Monday (November 13).

Police say the culprit was a black man wearing dark clothing, who then ran off.

A black car stopped and someone – possibly a witness - got out to speak to the man, but then drove off.

The elderly victim then summoned help and was taken to hospital, where he remains with non-life threatening injuries.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "The area would have been busy at that time of day and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened and can help our investigation."
