ENERGETIC education staff have been raising money for Children in Need by taking part in a sponsored walk.

Members of staff at Educational Psychology for Everyone Ltd staged a nine-mile walk between five borough schools to help raise cash for the annual BBC appeal last Saturday (November 11) ahead of today’s official Children in Need day.

The event – dubbed Take 5 – saw staff wearing Pudsey ears walking from St Mark’s Primary School in Pensnett to The Brook Primary School in Wordsley, taking in Bromsley Pensnett Primary, Crestwood Park Primary and Bromley Hills Primary along the way.

The firm, an independent provider of educational psychology services, serves around 30 primary, secondary, specialist school and college settings in addition to undertaking private work for young adults, parents and carers.

Dr Emily Williams, who manages the company, said staff came up with the idea for the fundraising walk at a team meeting and she said after the event: “We were all exhausted by the end of it but we know the money we have raised will be put to good use by the charity.”

They have currently raised £125 but hope to raise a little extra following today’s official Child In Need day. Staff were planning to don their Pudsey ears in schools across the area to help pull in a few extra pounds.
