STOURBRIDGE'S popular leisure cycling group Stourbug Cycling Club is holding an open day next weekend.

Club members will be at the activity centre in Mary Steven’s Park, Norton, between noon and 3pm on Saturday May 12 for people wishing to find out more about cycling with the group.

The club was founded in 2007 by cycling enthusiasts Russell and Nicky Eden and has since grown to a membership of more than 250 men and women of all abilities.

It offers both on and off road rides and social activities and aims to promote the sport in all forms - unlike more competitive clubs for racing cyclists.

At the open day Stourbug members will be on hand to talk about the club's events and activities set to take place throughout the year.

Brockmoor Community Cycling Club which caters for beginners and those wishing to learn to ride will also be at the event.

Dr Bike will also be offering free bike checks so visitors are invited to take along their bike and get it checked out.
