A STOURBRIDGE shop owner caught with property taken in a robbery and a burglary has been ordered to carry out 100 hours community punishment.
Stephen Foxall who owns Stourtech Computers in the High Street was told by Recorder Roderick Potter: "This was clearly an expensive mistake”.
He said references and reports reinforced the fact the 30 year old businessman of Rushall Close, Wordsley, was "an impressive person".
Today (Thursday July 9) at Wolverhampton Crown Court, Samantha Powis, defending, said the mobile phone and projector had been left in Foxall's shop by a couple while they went off to obtain identification.
Foxall, she added, did become suspicious but he forgot all about the items until the arrival of police officers when he was arrested.
Alka Brigue, prosecuting, told the court police armed with a warrant went to Foxall's shop and found the stolen property.
The phone, she went on, had been taken off a woman during a robbery while the projector was taken in a raid on a Stourbridge school.
The Recorder further told Foxall who admitted possessing criminal property he must pay the £838 costs of the prosecution.
