For the past week, I’ve been on a work placement at King Edward VI College in Stourbridge, gaining some insight into the career of teaching. Being a teacher is a possibility for me, so I thought getting some hands on experience within the sector would be vital. Conducting unpaid and voluntary work also looks great on your CV.

I recently came across an article which talked about the sell by date of packaged fresh fruit and vegetables and how so many top supermarkets throw away vast amounts on a regular basis. I was aware that it happened, just not in the quantities as described. I also know that vegetables don't always grow into the perfect aesthetically pleasing shape that we consumers demand, resulting in some of the more substandard looking vegetables being discarded before they even reach the supermarket shelves.

We’ve just pulled round from a bout of ‘festivitis’ – that’s my word for spreading ourselves too thinly over the festive period. Being expats, the question every December is ‘are we staying here or going there’? For Christmas, my heart will always be in England, not only because that is where my family is but also because other countries do Christmas so differently.

One of the greatest things in m life of which I'm most thankful, yet most modest to mention in my life is how much I appreciate and am grateful for such wide group of friendly, loving and caring family and friends that I am blessed with - at no time can I feel the truth of this other than at my Birthday. On reflection I think that I have had a very lucky life to know such awesome people, to of been offered such a rich variety of opportunities, and for the position that I am in now, as well as thinking about what the future holds in store, and what I can achieve. But for now; It's My Birthday

When you click on to a blog post, that being because it's got an interesting title or you like the writer etc, does there come a point where it's just too long and you don't even bother reading it? Do you take one look at the length and decide if you're going to read it right there, regardless of the reason why you clicked on it in the first place? Do lengths of blogs matter to the reader? RT investigates...

A WALK out onto the heaths around Kidderminster may feel like a strange place to look for the first signs of the arrival of spring’s bright colours, as superficially, heaths at this time of year look pretty bleak.
