Over the winter months we have received group visits from the Scouts, the Boy’s and Girl’s Brigade and Friends from the Parks of Kidderminster. The Mayor’s Officer delights in showing and talking about the Civic Regalia of Kidderminster also the King Charles 1 Room, the Courtroom and Council Chamber and the Mayor’s Parlour all of which depict the history of our town and how it has evolved over time.

We are always pleased to receive visitors. Just contact the Mayor’s Office on Telephone 01562 861429 (mornings) or e-mail kct@wyreforestdc.gov.uk to make a booking.

Last weekend I attended two musical evenings. On Friday March 9th “Music from the Gallery” presented the acclaimed pianist Clare Hammond who gave a magical performance of pieces by Debussy, Liszt and Ravel and other composers. The Classical Music Society is to be congratulated in attracting such talented performers to come to Kidderminster.

The Wyre Forest Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert took place in the Concert Hall on Saturday March 10th. This was the debut performance for their new conductor Richard Toomer. The programme included works by the composers, Beethoven and Mendelssohn and Mozart. This was a memorable evening given by talented musicians from around the district.
