CITIZENS ADVICE AND FUNDING CUTS!

In these times of austerity, cutbacks and funding cuts many charitable organisations are fighting for funding from an ever decreasing pot.

Despite the brilliant work we do and the help we give (I am biased of course!) to the citizens of the Wyre Forest, your local Citizens Advice Bureau is not immune from these cutbacks. There is only so much money to go round and there are many worthy causes

Our workload in these days is increasing......there is more and more need for our help and advice.

We are a charity staffed mainly by volunteers (not a lot of people know that!). There is a perception that we are a government agency and are funded by the government of the day. Not true! In these difficult times we are finding ourselves stretched in terms of manpower, manhours and finance.

At the heart of Citizens Advice is a desire to help where there is need and to bring about change where there are unjust and unfair situations. This of course needs finance but more importantly, people to give their time to help fellow citizens. We need more volunteers, young and those of more mature years. Maybe you could spare a few hours each week to get involved. Its rewarding, challenging and fun working with the brilliant team at Wyre Forest CAB.

We want to continue what we are doing......giving support, helping those facing difficult situations and sometimes fighting your corner where necessary to bring about change.

Your local bureau in New Street, Kidderminster is open Monday to Friday (10am to 4pm). Why not pop in and talk to us about volunteering? We also have a great website and as my grandson says, "just google it." (www.wyreforestcab.org.uk). I promise you won't regret it, we would love to have you on board.

It is a sad old world! I know that some Citizens Advice Bureaux have already closed. Make sure Wyre Forest Bureau doesn't join them.
