Hello Residents of Kidderminster. Welcome to the Mayor’s Blog.
I am Councillor Anne Hingley from Franche Ward and I was privileged to have been elected by the Charter Trustees as First Citizen of our Town on May 26, 2011.
I am keen to support the many community activities that keep our town vibrant and a pleasant place to reside in.
My theme is, ‘Think local , think Kidderminster’. I have chosen as the Mayoral Charity, ‘Among friends of Kidderminster’ who also run the Dementia Day Care Centre at the Fred Bennett Centre in George Street.
I look forward to keeping you informed of events I attend on behalf of Your Community of Kidderminster and in return hearing about your thoughts and ideas of our town.

March with the Mayor

Over the winter months we have received group visits from the Scouts, the Boy’s and Girl’s Brigade and Friends from the Parks of Kidderminster. The Mayor’s Officer delights in showing and talking about the Civic Regalia of Kidderminster also the King Charles 1 Room, the Courtroom and Council Chamber and the Mayor’s Parlour all of which depict the history of our town and how it has evolved over time.

November with the Mayor

November is the month when “Remembrance” of lost lives is in our thoughts. Kidderminster townspeople came in hundreds to show their respect for The Fallen at our Parish Church of St Mary’s and All Saints. The Parade led by Sgt Major Keith Newman from Hereford and Worcester Cadets gave testimony to the allegiance of Sovereign and Nation.

October with the Mayor

An eventful but tragic start to the month with the fire raging at the Heart Foundation Shop and Levine’s Furniture Store. I was in the Town Hall welcoming the Boys and Girls Brigade from the Stour Valley District to their Annual Parade and Celebration Service. Earlier I had attended the induction of Mrs Kath Forder as Lay Preacher at the New Meeting House, Church Street. It houses the beautiful Pulpit that Richard Baxter preached from in the 1600’s.

September with the Mayor

What could better a beautiful sunny September 3rd Day – than to join the crowds of people at the Stourport Carnival. A happy family atmosphere with much to see and do and ending with a fairy light riverboat show and firework display - a splendid time. Thanks to my host Mayor of Stourport, David Little.
