A PRESITIGOUS award has been picked up by a former King Charles I pupil on behalf of his financial planning company.

Robin Melley, of Bridgnorth-based Matrix Capital, collected the award for Financial Planning Company of the Year at the annual West Midlands Insurance Institutes competition.

The awards, designed to emphasise professionalism, reputation and ethical practice, were announced at a gala lunch at the Marco Pierre White Restaurant in The Cube, in Birmingham.

Mr Melley who was born and bred in Wyre Forest said: “After finishing as runner-up in the awards last year, it’s great to take that final step and pick up the top honour this time around.

“We’re incredibly proud of our small but perfectly-formed team, and to be recognised both regionally and nationally for the commitment and dedication of everyone involved, we couldn’t be happier.

“We really are having a phenomenal year when it comes to national recognition for the services we deliver.”

Only days before the award win, the company was commended for its retirement advice in the Investment Life and Pensions Moneyfacts Awards in London.

Mr Melley said: “In the ten years we’ve been in business, we have worked consistently to build a company that really listens to the needs of our clients and offers effective and appropriate advice that makes a tangible difference to their circumstances.

“We have built a truly unique approach to financial planning through our Financial Empowerment Programme, which allows us to deliver personal, straightforward, transparent and results-orientated value for our clients.”
