A CLENT special school will get extra financial help this year after being named as the charity partner of Black Country estate agents Lex Allan and Grove.

Sunfield School will join forces with the estate agents, which has its offices in Stourbridge and Halesowen, to raise funds and awareness for the school.

Dean Grove, director of the Halesowen office, recently spent time in some of the classrooms to meet and to get an understanding of those living and learning at Sunfield, who have complex learning and behavioural needs, including autism.

He said: “It was a privilege to see the work the staff and carers do at Sunfield and re-confirmed the importance of our partnership to raise as much funds as possible for this fantastic charity.”

A busy calendar of fundraising activities to raise money for the school is now being planned, with events including skittles nights, cycle rides and cake sales.

The school will also benefit from the firm’s customer feedback ‘WOW’ cards, where for every completed form £10 will be donated to the charity.

Georgina Forrest, Sunfield’s partnership development manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have the support of Lex Allan and Grove as a neighbouring business.

“We look forward to welcoming them as part of our community and thank them for their long-term commitment, which will enable us to purchase the many things that enhance our students’ lives but that are not covered by Government funding.”

Having raised almost £10,000 for their previous charity partner Clic Sargent, the company’s directors hope to raise the same - if not more - for the school.
