A WEST Midlands based solicitors has expanded its family law division with a new appointment to the team.

Quality Solicitors Talbots, which employs 180 people across 7 local offices including Kidderminster, Stourport, Stourbridge, Dudley and Halesowen, has appointed Paul Furnival to lead the firm’s Private Client Family Law offer.

The experienced specialist’s remit is to grow the firm’s ‘Fixed Fee’ service that is looking to help clients offset the abolition of Legal Aid by providing affordable advice to achieve the best resolutions.

Paul, who has spent the last nine years as the Principal Solicitor of his own firm, said: “This is a very exciting move and a chance to join an independent firm that is determined to change the way families access the advice they need.

“I will use my 22 years experience in Family Law to lead the QualitySolicitors Talbots’ team of 15 specialists in developing our private family law offer.”

He added: “The focus will be on building our strong track record and ensuring more people can benefit from the transparency that comes from our ‘Fixed Fee’ service. We are one of only a handful of firms nationwide to offer this across all areas of family work.

“We speak in plain English and explain everything in a way that is clear and easy to understand, starting with a free over-the-phone consultation, right through to ‘ask the legal expert’ appointment and then one-to-one bespoke support from the Family Team.

“The abolition of legal aid and everyday budgets becoming even tighter means transparency of costs is even more important.

“Family law matters are often completed in emotional and difficult circumstances and we want to take the uncertainty and financial strain out of it to achieve amicable and workable solutions that will benefit all family members.”

Paul has been recommended as a ‘5 Star Solicitor’ and ‘Highly Recommended’ in the Good Lawyer Guide, the new Director of Family Law is also an Accredited Specialist with Resolution and has sat as an Executive Committee member of the Citizen Advice Bureau and Relate.

Martyn Morgan, Director, said: “We’ve been growing this part of the business consistently over the last couple of years, but this appointment now takes us to the next level.

“Paul is one of the most respected figures in the sector and his experience and desire to develop innovative legal practices will be crucial in helping us maximise the growing demand for our ‘Fixed Fee’ family law offer.

“There will definitely be new positions created, as our regional and national reputation for quality and personal service grows.
