A HALESOWEN house worth more than £300,000 is set to be raffled off as part of the UK’s first ever house competition platform.

New Midlands-based company Rafflemyhouse.com is offering players the chance to win a refurbished three-bedroom bungalow in Fallowfield Road in return for £1.

The initiative is one of the first of its kind in the country and came about after discussions between three local property developers – Kevin Clark, Ricky Jhuti and Raj Roma.

Raj, company director, said: “We’re all from a property background and there have been a couple of house raffles before so it was always something we had discussed.

“One of our contacts spoke to us earlier this year about one of their properties and we felt like this was the right time to do a raffle.

“We’ve worked very closely with our legal team and the Gambling Commission to make sure everything is above board, as the legality of the platform was the biggest concern when speaking to people.

“We made sure the house was independently valued by three estate agents in Halesowen who have all been really supportive of the platform, especially Stuart Down at Taylors.”

To enter the competition, people need to visit Rafflemyhouse.com - where full terms and conditions are available - answer a question correctly and pay £1.

The winner will then be picked at random and announced live on Property TV (Sky channel 198) by the channel’s founder Michael Hammond.

Michael said: “The opportunity to work with Rafflemyhouse.com was one which we very much welcomed.

“We are a platform that supports new and innovative ideas in the property business and this is certainly a concept that excites us.

“Not only is this a once in a lifetime prize for the potential winner but also an exciting and unique method for existing homeowners to sell their property.”

The company need to raise £325,000 by the time the competition deadline hits at noon on February 8, 2018, before the property can be sold.
