Margaret Stonall, our Chairman, welcomed 53 members and two visitors to our Annual General Meeting held on the March 26 2008.
Margaret reported on the visits to the Birmingham Hippodrome to see Aspects of Love and the Walsall Museum to see an exhibition of women's underwear through the ages.
She also reminded of the members' visit to the BBC at the Mailbox, Birmingham on March 27 for a conducted tour of the studios.
She announced the Christmas lunch will be held at the Halesowen Golf Club.
The free monthly raffle was held and prizes of chopping boards were won by Patricia Soley, Desma Tromans and Sue Watkins.
The commitee reports were then given including an outline of the events coming up later in the year which included the strolling group's visit to the Birmingham Canals and a guided walk of the Wren's Nest.
The first two outings of the year were to Elan Valley/Radnor Forest and a trip on the Gloucester and Warwickshire Railway from Toddington to Cheltenham Racecourse.
Margaret informed the meeting the West Midlands Federation's Annual general Meeting and Officers Get Together will be on April 16. The Annual General Meeting will be held with the various business reports given.
Margaret gave her report and thanked all the members of the commitee for their hard work. Various other non-commitee members were also thanked. She announced Grace Campbell was standing down from the commitee this year and Margaret thanked her for all the work she had done. Patricia Soley was making a welcome return to the commitee.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday April 23 at 10.30am when the speaker will be Mr Gordon Forrest whose subject will be "Birds of Upton Warren".
The competition will be "A Fridge Magnet" and there will be a table top sale, the proceeds of which will be for our nominated charity, Sunfield Home Clent. The competition at the AGM for "A Cat" was won by Margaret Stonall.
Our meetings are held at Moose Hall, Beeches Road, Blackheath.
