Gas works in Old Hill

A £200,000 scheme to improve the gas network in Old Hill is due to begin this month. Work will begin on September 22 to replace the old metal medium pressure main running along Halesowen Road, Barrs Road and Beauty Bank with a new hard-wearing plastic pipe. The project, which is expected to be completed within six weeks, has been planned in cooperation with Railtrack to take advantage of the closure of Beauty Bank to allow for repairs to the rail bridge.
