Members of a new group formed to fight proposals which members say will destroy Halesowen green belt held a meeting to discuss how to fight plans.
More than 30 people attended the Friends of Coombeswood's meeting at Leasowes Community College on Thursday (April 17) with members stepping forward to form a committee.
The group is concerned about developer St Modwen's plans to move Coombs Wood Sports and Social Club onto the Coombs Wood Green Wedge which is a haven for wildlife.
The move is being proposed because St Modwen wants to sell the present club site for housing.
Spokeswoman Sue Yeadon said: "Anyone interested in getting involved to help protect one of the few remaining open green spaces in Halesowen can contact the group through its website at www.coombeswood.info or by phoning 0121 422 6410."
