The leading light of a Halesowen charity will be speaking via phone at an event in the town as she makes her way on an epic 2,200 mile journey around the coast of England and Wales.

Lighthouse Project chief executive Catherine Marshall is visiting 50 lighthouses from May 12 to May 21 as part of a challenge to raise £100,000 to mark the charity's tenth anniversary.

Catherine will speak to people at an afternoon tea event on Thursday May 15 at the project's base at the Zion Christian Centre, Little Cornbow, Halesowen.

Catherine's mum Dorothy Clarke who is organising the event, said: "It will be exciting to find out how she's going on - she may have had a lot of experiences by then."

There will also be a map charting Catherine's progress and a display of hats to keep visitors entertained.

Enrance costs £2 and includes tea. Call Dorothy on 01562 886642 for details.
