Pop guru Pete Waterman will host a fun day at Halesowen police station this Saturday (May 17).

There will be an opportunity for people to see what goes on behind the scenes at the station in Laurel Lane aswell as talks and demonstrations.

Former Stock, Aitken and Waterman producer Pete will pose for photographs with fans for the first hour of the event.

Waterman said he was delighted to be working with West Midlands Police to help build bridges with local communities.

A fire engine, ambulance and American patrol car will be amongst vehicles on show.

Music will be provided by four-piece band The Greater Good which plays original indie and rock tracks and formed in 2003.

There will also be face painting and a bouncy castle.

Pete Aston, crime reduction officer at Halesowen police station, said: "We haven't opened the station to the public for a few years, so this open day is a fantastic opportunity for people to see behind the scenes.

"We will be explaining how we tackle a range of crime issues including anti-social behaviour."

The event will run from 11am till 3pm.
