Halesowen News reporter to join literary greats in Twitter project

HALESOWEN News reporter Adam Smith has been chosen to take part in a groundbreaking charity twitter project.

Writers and celebrities from across Britain including Stephen Fry, Irvine Welsh and Ian Rankin have contributed to 3hundredand65 Twitter story, which is raising cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Each day since January 1 this year a different tweeter contributes one line to a story and graphic novel and Mr Smith will have his tweet published this Monday.

Mr Smith recently wrote the book Obama and Me: The Incredible True Story of a YouTube Sensation under his pen and twitter name Steve Zacharanda.

Prodigious tweeter Mr Smith said: “I’ve been following the storyline for months now and really wanted to get involved especially as so many of my literary heroes have contributed.

“However, as the narrative is nearing completion the pressure is on to think of a tweet which will not ruin the whole story.”

He added: “And the best part of all is that it is for a great cause, being a hard news journalist I see a lot of tragic stories about teenagers with cancer and I know the Trust does some really inspiring work.”
