MERRY Hill shoppers are being invited to wrap up warm in their best novelty Christmas jumpers and head to its outdoor ice rink to take part in a fundraising skate-off on Friday.

On December 14, Save the Children – the shopping centre’s official seasonal charity partner – has created National Christmas Jumper Day.

The fundraising campaign is encouraging people to don their favourite festive knit and donate money to the charity to help its continuing work helping the world’s most vulnerable children.

Between 10am and 11am, the centre is hoping to get as many people in Christmas jumpers on the ice rink to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

Kelly Reed, marketing manager at Merry Hill said: “We are hugely proud to be working in partnership with Save the Children this Christmas.

“The skate-off will be great fun and we hope that as many of you as possible turn up to show your support!”
