SHOPPERS and workers at Merry Hill raised more than £4,000 over the festive season for the centre's charity partner Save the Children.
A total of £4,291.03 was coined in during the Westfield mall's busiest shopping season of the year - which will go to the charity's No Child Born to Die campaign.
The money raised will help to save the lives of youngsters under five who are dying from preventable or treatable illnesses by providing more vaccines, antibiotics, nurses and midwives.
Shop staff and mall visitors took part in a host of fundraising activities to help pull in the cash - including a skate-off to mark National Christmas Jumper Day. Secret celebrity busking sessions were also staged and limited edition Christmas baubles sold in aid of the charity.
Workers at the centre’s Matalan store also raised more than £600.
Kelly Reed, Merry Hill marketing manager, said: “It’s great to have raised such a significant amount for a charity which provides support to children who need it the most.
“I’d like to thank all of our workers who got involved and gave up their time to take part in the fundraising activities and all of those who donated generously to the charity.”
