Oldbury choir hopes to strike a chord with new singers

A COMMUNITY choir run by the Salvation Army in Oldbury is looking for new members to swell its ranks.

The 35-strong choir performs a mix of styles spanning many decades and is currently rehearsing numbers for a night at the musicals.

Lee Highton-Nicholls said it is open to all and there is no expectation to become a committed member of the Salvation Army.

He described the choir as “very relaxed,” with great music and a chance to meet new friends.

The choir rehearses alternate Wednesdays from 7.45pm to 9.30pm at the Oldbury Community Church, Merton Close.
