Halesowen College apprenticeship team to sleep rough

FOUR members of the apprenticeship team at Halesowen College will be sleeping rough for a night to raise money for young homeless people.

Alison Tucker, Emma Ball, Mike Thomas and Matt Parker are taking part in the YMCA’s Sleep Easy at Warley Rugby Club, Oldbury, on Friday March 1 and hope to raise £1,000.

Steve Bavington from the YMCA said: “It’s at this time of year that we realise how tough it is for young people who have nowhere to go.

“With central heating and double glazing we may not realise how tough it is for people who are having to shelter outdoors.

“This event gives people the opportunity to sleep rough so others don’t have to.”
