SANDWELL residents can take advantage of longer opening hours at the borough's recycling centre in Oldbury.
The centre in Shidas Lane is now recycling 65 per cent of the borough's rubbish - more than ever.
The new extended opening hours came into force on March 1 and will be in place until the end of October.
The site will open as normal at 8am but will now stay open until 8pm during the week. Previously it closed at 6pm.
At weekend opening hours have increased from 8am to 4pm to 7am to 6pm.
Cabinet member for neighbourhood services Councillor Ian Jones said: "We we want to give people greater flexibility when it comes to recycling especially now the days are longer.”
Residents can recycle a range of items including: carpets, cardboard, plastic, wood, uPVC, mattresses and bric a brac.
Residents can also view the live webcam from home to see how busy the site is before setting off.
