A Black Country dance academy has finally found a home in Cradley Heath after looking for a permanent home for over a decade.

Debonair Dance Academy has moved into the former St Luke's Church Hall, School Street and now can cater for 170 pupils.

Founder Debbie Baggot has stumped up the cash to transform the hall into a state-of-the-art dance academy.

She said: "It is a wonderful feeling to have our own permanent home and I know all the youngsters will excel now.

"There is already a great atmosphere in the place with dancers and performers being around the place a lot more."

She added: “With the calibre of pupils and our new facilities our dance academy will really be a centre of excellence for the entire Black Country.”

The school teaches all sorts of dancing including ballet, street style, tap dance and has sent pupils to the Royal Ballet and other national organisations.

Debbie said: "We are delighted that the church hall, which was built 140 years, will now have a lasting legacy in the community with local children still using the premises for education."
