MP in breast cancer fundraising call
1:00pm Saturday 21st September 2013 in Local
The true blue was in the pink as he joined the Breast Cancer Campaign in Parliament to launch next month’s ‘wear it pink’ day.
The MP swapped his usual blue rosette for pink to add his support for the annual fundraising event on Friday October 25 when people will pay £2 to wear something pink and help promote awareness of the killer disease.
Mr Morris said: “Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK with 50,000 women and 400 men diagnosed each year.
“The kind of research being done by Breast Cancer Campaign is our best chance of finding a cure to this disease, which is responsible for more than 12,000 deaths each year in this country.
“I hope that people in Halesowen and Rowley Regis will join me in wearing something pink and donate £2 to Breast Cancer Campaign to help make that life-saving breakthrough.”
To register for wear it pink and receive a fundraising pack visit www.wearitpink.org or call 0800 107 3104.
