PEOPLE can start the New Year with a spring in their step with new fitness sessions at Stourbridge's Crystal Leisure Centre.

The Bell Street facility is offering climbing and trampolining courses from Tuesday January 7 to Monday 7 April.

Juniors aged nine to 15 can try climbing on Mondays from 6pm to 7pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6.45pm to 7.45pm and Thursdays from 7pm to 8pm.

Sessions for people aged 16 and over run on the same days but an hour later.

Children aged five to 15 who want to try trampolining for the first time can join the centre’s beginners courses.

The one hour sessions run on Mondays and Fridays at 4pm and Thursdays at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.

Beginners aged three to 15 are invited to join Saturday classes at 9.30am and 10.30am while children aged two and a half to five can join a Friday session at 1.45pm.

Improvers aged five to 15 can also try trampolining on Mondays from 5pm and Thursdays from 7pm while advanced youngsters can join a Monday evening session from 7pm.

People aged 16 and over can also try a Monday class from 7pm.

Councillor Stuart Turner, cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: "Crystal Leisure Centre has a wide range of activities to help children and adults get active in 2014.

“People can find out about our wide range of New Year activities in parks, leisure centres and nature reserves by visiting our website.”

Courses last 12 weeks and range from £55.20 to £80.40 per person.
