DUDLEY South MP Chris Kelly is encouraging borough businesses to make 2014 the best year yet for Black Country exports.

The Conservative MP has written to manufacturing and engineering businesses across his constituency inviting them to use the free www.bulldogexports.com service offered by business boss John Meredith who runs Hong Kong-based Hutchison Port Holdings group.

Mr Kelly, whose family runs West Bromwich based Keltruck Limited - the largest independent Scania dealer in Europe, said: “2013 was a great year for UK exports with Black Country businesses really contributing to the improving economic picture nationally and playing an important role in improving the UK’s balance of payments.

“I’m really keen to make sure 2014 is an even better year for Black Country manufacturing, engineering and jobs so I’ve invited as many local businesses as possible to take advantage of John Meredith’s www.bulldogexports.com service.

“With my background in a local family business — which also exports — I know how invaluable this free service will be to both experienced and novice exporters in our area.

“The more we in the Black Country make and export the better for the UK economy, local employment and skills levels.”
