POLICE are hunting three late night revellers who left an Oldbury man with a broken jaw and lasting nerve damage in an unprovoked attack.

Detectives have released CCTV images of the people they believe were involved in the beating at a Wolverhampton nightclub before Christmas.

The 24-year-old man from Oldbury was in The Walkabout Bar in Queen Street at just before 1am on Sunday, December, 22 when he was punched so hard, he was knocked unconscious and had his jaw broken in two places and lost some teeth.

Detectives investigating the assault have released CCTV images of the man who punched him, together with the man and woman the offender was in the club with at the time.

DC Tom Keady from Force CID, is investigating the crime and is appealing for help from the public.

He said: "This was a very nasty and unprovoked attack, which has resulted in the man sustaining a double fracture to the jaw, both upper and lower together with some teeth being displaced."

He added: "There were a lot of people in the club at the time and I am hoping someone will recognise them and come forward with information."

The man who delivered the punch is described as being a white man, wearing a blue and white striped polo type shirt, aged 20-30 years. He was with a bald-headed white man, who was a similar age, also wearing a distinctive blue and orange shirt and a white woman with blond hair.

DC Keady added: "The man suffered terrible injuries to his face, for which he is still receiving treatment and will suffer lasting nerve damage.

"This was an unprovoked attack and the man had no means of defending himself. I would appeal for anyone with information to contact Force CID at Bloxwich on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
