KINDHEARTED staff and guests at Premier Inn Oldbury have raised £7,500 for Great Ormond Street Hospital's children's charity.

The cash was raised through donations by customers on the Premier Inn website and through skydives, 24 hour sleep overs, sponsored silences, bed races and car washes.

The money raised will go towards the brand new Premier Inn Clinical Building at Great Ormond Street Hospital, due to open in 2017.

Simon Ewins, Premier Inn corporate responsibility director, said: “The collective passion and determination of our teams and customers to raise money for GOSHCC has been truly amazing and I am extremely proud that we have been able to reach this key milestone in such a short space of time.

"This is an outstanding achievement and a fantastic step towards our pledge of raising £7.5 million.”

Antonia Dalmahoy, director of corporate partnerships at GOSHCC, said: “We’re thrilled that our partnership with Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants has raised an incredible amount. The funds raised will make a real difference to our patients and families from across the UK, helping us replace outdated buildings with state-of-the-art facilities with more space, privacy and comfort."
