The following appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court between February 3-7:

Zahir Abbas Shah, aged 26, of King Street, Lye, was sent to prison for 18 weeks for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a police officer, causing him harassment, alarm or distress, in Stourbridge on October 16, while subject to a suspended sentence. The offence was racially aggravated.

Richard Steven Lawley, aged 34, of Cemetery Road, Lye, was sent to prison for 16 weeks for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a woman , leading her to believe immediate unlawful violence would be used against her, in Lye on January 21.

Neil Lloyd Gordon, aged 49, of Northfield Road, Netherton, was fined £73 for stealing eight boxes of chocolates, worth £8, from Poundland, in Stourbridge on November 21. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Nathan Platt, aged 33, of South Road, Norton, was given an 18 month community order for assaulting three men in Brierley Hill on December 19. He was ordered to carry out 40 hours unpaid work, pay compensation of £500, a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Mohammed Usman, aged 20, of Himley Road, Dudley, was sent to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for two years, for sending messages via a public electronic communications network that were grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character. He must carry out 150 hours of unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £80 and £85 court costs.

Matthew John Highfield, aged 23, of Park Road, Dudley, was given a 12 month community order for driving without a licence or insurance in Woodsetton on January 22 and failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis. He was disqualified from driving for three years, ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Martin Steven Gordan, aged 31, of Hamble Close, Pensnett, was given a 12 month community order for driving while unfit through drink in Amblecote on September 18 and failing to give a specimen of breath for analysis. He was disqualified from driving for six months and ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work, pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

David Roy Russell, aged 49, of Lower High Street, Cradley Heath, was given a 21 day community order for stealing meat and cheese, worth £10, from Iceland, Halesowen. He was given a 21 day curfew and for the duration must remain at his home address between 8pm and 6am. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Simon James Morgan, aged 28, of Teasdale Way, Stourbridge, was fined £400 for drink driving in Brierley Hill on January 21. When tested he had 96mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was disqualified from driving for two years and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40 and £85 court costs.

Nigel Paul Cook, aged 55, of Pine Walk, Wollescote, was given a two year community order for causing a woman harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, in Dudley on November 28. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Stuart Askins, aged 23, of Lower Derry Street, Brierley Hill, was fined £135 for drink driving in Brierley Hill on December 13. When tested he had 97mlgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood. The legal limit is 80mlgs. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Andrew Robert Evans, aged 26, of Albert Street, Pensnett, was fined £465 for producing 441g of cannabis in Stourbridge on September 7. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £46 and £85 court costs.

Andrew Evans, aged 58, of Kings Road, Sedgley, was given a 12 month community order for drink driving in Sedgley on January 23. When tested he had 107mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was disqualified from driving for 24 months, ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 court costs.

Simon Fisher, aged 43, of Limes Road, Dudley, was fined £140 for drink driving in Dudley on December 5. When tested he had 100mlgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood. The legal limit is 80mlgs. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £85 court costs.

Mark Royston Barry Tinsley, aged 32, of Wolverhampton Street, Dudley, was sent to prison for four weeks, suspended for 12 months for stealing meat, worth £35.12, from two supermarkets in Netherton on February 5. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and compensation of £15.45.
