A COUPLE in their 80s have been left devastated after thieves broke into their Hunnington home and stole irreplaceable jewellery and RAF mementos.
The haul included a diamond solitaire engagement ring, a gold band wedding ring and a gold bracelet retirement gift.
It had been presented by Oldbury firm Accles and Pollock and was inscribed with the company name, the recipient’s name and the years 1945 to 1970.
The thieves also escaped with an RAF cap with badges on it, a nap sack with an RAF number on it and a pair of cufflinks with two small Spitfire planes and the RAF logo.
A Packard Bell laptop and a TomTom sat nav were also taken in the break-in, which happened last Friday (March 28) between 2pm and 3.30pm after burglars forced open a conservatory window.
Detective Constable Vicky Collier, of West Mercia Police, said: “The victims are elderly and very distressed at the loss of items which are irreplaceable.”
She appealed for witnesses or anyone with information, or who sees any of the stolen items offered for sale, to contact her on the non-emergency number 0300 333 3000 quoting incident 416-s-280314.
