SIX Oldbury Npower empoyees had to use their own energy reserves to complete a 10 kilometre fun run for MacMillan Cancer Support.

Charles Temu, Barry Purewal, Satish Salhan, Mick Marshall, Steven Holding and Lester Babbington all finished the run at Solihull’s Tudor Grange Park.

Lester Babbington, an Npower trainer, said: “I took part in another npower 10k run last year and it was a great team atmosphere.

"A couple of important people in my life have been affected by cancer so it means a lot to me to support the cause.”

Npower also runs the 10 for 10 campaign which supports people affected by cancer who are struggling to pay their energy bills.

Clare McDougall, head of community at Npower, added: “Jointly with Macmillan, we created the Fuel Management Programme to help people affected by cancer who are struggling to pay their energy bills.

"We hope that the scheme helps to alleviate some of the pressures faced by people affected by cancer at such an important time - so that they can keep warm without the worry.”
