A HALESOWEN pensioners luncheon club has celebrated its silver anniversary.

The Lutley Luncheon Club, which meets at the scout hut every Thursday, has 35 members and is one of the biggest of its kind in the Black Country.

Social secretary Helen Bussey said: "It is a great way for people to meet each other on a regular basis and we all really enjoy each other's company.

"Our oldest member is 94-year-old and we had a wonderful anniversary lunch."

The club was started by June Pearce in 1989 at Lutley Community Centre but had to move to the scout hut due to the amount of people attending.
