A DUDLEY man was arrested yesterday (Thursday) in connection with a sexual assault on board a bus in Cradley Heath, earlier this year.
Hours before the arrest, police released CCTV images of the suspect, following the attack on a young woman on board the number 243 bus, from Dudley to Merry Hill, on April 30.
A member of the public then contacted police, having spotted a man matching the suspect’s description in Netherton.
Officers quickly arrived at the location and arrested a 59-year-old local man on suspicion of sexual assault.
He has now been released on bail.
Temporary Detective Sergeant Emma Holder, from the force’s safer travel project empower team, said: "We had an overwhelming response to this appeal and we’d like to thank everyone who has contacted us with information to date.”
