A DOUBLE celebration for a Rowley Regis couple earned them a place in history as they became the first ‘hatch ‘n’ match’ at St Giles Church.
David Chance and fiancée Lyndsey Collett tied the knot on Saturday as three-month-old Brooke May was Christened.
A similar ceremony was held at the nearby St Paul’s Church in 2010 when Kyle and Charlotte Ryan married and six-week-old son Rhys was baptised, and although not unique the combination remains quite rare in the Church of England.
Mrs Chance, aged 36, said her bricklayer husband David, aged 44, and the family had a “lovely day, which was very special”.
The happy couple, of Buckingham Road, were accompanied by sons, Luke, aged eight, who was their page boy and Jake, aged 12, who gave his mum away.
