A 24-year-old woman jointly accused of murdering a grandmother in her Halesowen home has been allowed bail today.

Chantelle Moran-Stokes is charged with Leo Barnes with killing 80-year-old Cynthia Beamond who lived in Juliet Road, Howley Grange.

The pensioner was found dead in the garage at her home two days after she was reported missing to police and a post mortem later revealed she died from serious head wounds.

Mr Stephen Linehan QC for the prosecution told Wolverhampton Crown Court they did not oppose Moran-Stokes being granted bail.

But he stressed she would have to comply with seven strict conditions before she could be released from custody having been held behind bars since her arrest.

Judge John Warner told Moran-Stokes who wore blue jeans and a white top she would have to provide a security in the sum of £12,000.

She would have to reside with her parents in Sandfield Avenue, Small Heath, Birmingham, who would each also have to provide a £10,000 surety to guarantee her future appearances in court.

The judge said Moran-Stokes would also have to report to police on Monday's and Friday's and obey a curfew order between the hours of 8.00pm and 6.00am.

He further ruled she should not go within five miles of the Juliet Road address and she should have no contact with 32-year-old Barnes who is currently being held in custody in Birmingham.

Barnes is also charged with a second murder at an address in Belize Park, London where the body of 67-year-old Philip Silverstone was discovered.

Moran-Stokes and Barnes of Runcorn Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham are expected back at the Crown Court on Friday, October 10 when a plea and case management hearing is set to be held.
