BROWNIES from Halesowen marked the organisation's 100th anniversary by attending a giant camp at Beaudesert Park.
The Halesowen Brownies, all aged seven to 10, joined more than 270 other girls to celebrate The Big Brownie Birthday – a massive girl only camp packed full of activities.
The chance to spend four consecutive nights under canvas at a large-scale event was for many of the girls the first time they had stayed away from home.
The girls enjoyed a range of exciting, adrenaline-fuelled activities, including go-carting, climbing, spider mountain and cooking on an open fire.
The leader, Victoria Rowley added: "It was a really exciting adventure for the girls, especially the youngest girls who’d never stayed away from home before."
The activities were drawn from the Brownie Adventure programme, which builds girls’ confidence and self-esteem, encourages them to become active citizens and learn about the wider world and gives them a space to have fun and be themselves with other girls.
2014 has seen Girl Guiding members from all over the UK take part in sleepovers, camps and holidays in unexpected places to celebrate the 100th birthday of Brownies.
Brownie Niamh Randle said: "I really enjoyed camp, I did not want it to end."
