A THIRD annual charity variety show is being staged in Cradley by a singer whose career was halted when he was struck down by throat cancer.

The Gala Night of Comedy and Music at the Cradley Sports and Social Club, next month, follows the success of two similar evenings which raised more than £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Organiser Brian T Williams is again raising money for the charity which helped him after being diagnosed with cancer in 2009.

He said: “As usual, variety is the name of the game and I believe that this may be the most diverse and entertaining yet.

“The evening will include six top professional acts, all giving their time completely free of any fee or expenses.”

The line up for the gig, on Thursday October 2, includes West Country comedian Tank Sharman, Melton Mowbray - the current world record fire eater, Hank Marvin and Shadows tribute Ian Lockyer, Stourbridge professional singer Kelly Louise and blues duo The Blue Lazoons.

There will be a raffle and food will be on sale. Admission is by ticket only and they can be booked by calling Brian on 07852 190 333.
