TRANSPORT minister John Hayes joined MP James Morris to inspect progress on improvements at Rowley Regis station.
The minister met representatives of Centro, London Midland Trains and the company undertaking the work, to discuss how more parking and a new cycle hub would benefit passengers.
The park and ride extension will nearly double the number of parking spaces, relieving the problem of station users abandoning their cars along neighbouring residential streets.
Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP Mr Morris and Halesowen North councillor Karen Shakespeare campaigned for more parking spaces and the work should be finished by the end of the year.
