BLACK Country authors will be in spotlight on Friday with an event at Oldbury library to celebrate their work.

Six writers will be at the library talking about their work and signing copies of their books from 10am until 2pm.

Brendan Hawthorne, who is Poet Laureate of Wednesbury, will discuss his works including Black Country Dialect, Ghost Stories of The Black Country and Birmingham and Black Country Wit and Humour.

Necola Hall will talk about her autobiography entitled I Was a Soldier (Survival Against the Odds), while readers can meet Sharran K, author of Mask and romantic thriller writer Susan Morris.

Crime writer Tom Bryson will discuss his latest novel In it for the Money, which is set in Birmingham and the Black Country while Daniel Hyland will discuss his poetry and short shorties.
