SPARKS are set to fly as Himley Park prepares for its annual bonfire bonanza which takes place on Saturday November 8.

More than 1,500 wooden pallets have already been brought in to build this year's bonfire.

There's also around two kilometres of fuse wire in place to produce an electronically started firework display.

The event - one of the biggest in the country - regularly attracts crowds in the region of 20,000.

Gates open at 4.30pm with Heart FM radio set to entertain the crowds from 6.30pm before the bonfire is lit at 7.45pm while the fireworks start at 8.30pm.

A free bus service will be in operation from Dudley, Coseley, Sedgley, Quarry Bank, Brierley Hill, Halesowen and Stourbridge.

Tickets cost £9 for adults and £4.50p for juniors and senior citizens while under fives will be admitted for free.

Alternatively a family ticket for two adults and two children costs £23, while car parking is priced at £3.
